Unfortunatly you are not telling us any relevant information.

Nagios version? Wjhat OS? How did you install it?
What is your config directory?
Does your nagios startup pick the right configuration?
Output of nagios -v?

There is a host of information for you to tell us. Besides the name we
only know that some version of nagios is not running. Beyond what you
tell us of your setup we know nothing at all about it.
