virtualizing Nagios / multiple environments on one box

I'm a bit new to the Nagios scene and am exploring ways in which I might
give many people / clients different Nagios installations / environments on
one box.

For example, if I had one server and, say, installed OpenVZ and then made a
Nagios template, fired up an instance of that template, and then bridged
that instance to the network as if it were a "real" server.

This would be similar to the VM app that's publicly shared on Nagios
Exchange, although I think (from what little I know about VMware and OpenVZ)
it would be extremely slow and not very scalable to multiple instances.
