check_by_ssh id key file reject

Just to clarify - are you manually executing this check using the same
account under which Nagios runs?

Hi everyone i have a problem with using the check_by_ssh plugin

for some reason i can run from the command line fine the check_by_ssh 
plugin with my id keyfile id_rsa
my id_rsa file is chowned by nagios so that shouldn't be a problem. i 
had also chmoded 777 for testing.

/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_by_ssh -H 192.168.1.1 -l remotecmd -i 
'/usr/local/nagios/etc/id_rsa' -C '/home/remotecmd/asterisk.sh'

when running it through nagios i get the following error:
Remote command execution failed: Host key verification failed.

ideas?
