Delay in notification

Hi ,

I have a nagios server installed to monitor some of the hosts in my network with the default settings. Initially I used to get  all hosts UP and DOWN alerts for every 5 min. Now I don't know what parameter has been changed, suddenly all my alerts are sent only after 20 min. Can anyone suggest me what parameter went wrong. I wanted alerts for every 5 min.I am using nagios ver 2.6
