Monitoring bandwidth usage

Hello,

I would like to get some input on what everyone thinks the best way to monitor and alert our techs is in regards to bandwidth usage. I know you can setup Cacti and Nagios to work together. 

For example, we can set a base mbit per day for a user and if they go over this limit, we will be notified via Nagios and can contact the user to let them know that they are on track to go over their allotted transfer.
