Yahoo IM notification?

Is there a notification method for Yahoo Messenger?

The FAQ and Google seem to indicate that as of 21 months ago, there was 
only a broken Yahoo IM Perl module and no working method. This could be 
a fun project for me to pick up, if nobody else has.
