Alternative to NSCA

Hi,

	I can't get NSCA to work, so I'm thinking about an alternative for my
failover setup.

	I thought about having nagios running on the master host, and not
running on the backup host. I'd rsync the retention.dat file once every
5 minute to the backup host. If the backup hosts detects that nagios is
not running anymore on the master host, it will start nagios up, with
the retention data. I also thought about decreasing
retention_update_interval= to 5.

	Opinions?

Thanks

Ugi
