query a nagios server

Hi all !!!

Just had a thought about a functionality that I would LOVE to add
to my nagios system. Currently, I can control, from the cell-phones
of the field-personel, the status of their own notifications. i.e. they
can activate or deactivate the notifications from nagios to themselves.

I would like to add to those 2 commands, commands such as e.g.

client1

My script must then query the status of "client1" from nagios. It will then
be sent to the cell-phone issuing the query. The command processing is easy,
but I haven't a clue at where to start to get any host-info from a nagios
server
together with the status of the services linked to that host.

Am I dreaming to much here !!!!! ??????  ;-)

Any pointers ?
