check if spoole directoty is epmty

Hello,

i try to check printer and mail spooldirectories.
My idea = if the directories are empty printig and mailing is working.

The problem is how to check if a directory is empty.

I found the plugin file_age but that seemsto need a named file or am I
wrong with this?
