No data was received from host!

I had a similar problem running Nagios 2.4 on Fedora Core 5.  The 
problem turned out to be the Nagios machine was too heavily-loaded, and 
the plugin checks would die without returning an output - so Nagios 
would think the host had failed to send anything back.

I've since upgraded the machine (physically) and upgraded Nagios to 2.5, 
not seen the problem again for 4 months and counting.
