nagiosgrapher - no pipe starting

Hello everyone -

I have nagios 2.3.1 up and running and monitoring hosts via nrpe.

I an now trying to get the NagiosGrapher to function.

I have followed the install and config options. I start the
collect2.pl and find that it is running:
nagios 20703 1 0 00:32 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/perl
/usr/local/nagios/contrib/collect2.pl

But the pipe is not being created in the /var/lib/nagios directory

[xxxx at Dell-Linux nagios]# ls -la
total 12
drwxr-xr-x 3 nagios nagios 4096 May 28 23:36 ./
drwxr-xr-x 22 root root 4096 May 28 21:32 ../
drwxr-xr-x 2 nagios nagios 4096 May 28 23:36 rrd/

Can anyone offer a suggestion to the issue?
