checking delay

Hi, I'm using nagios 1.4 and I'm checking our UPS APC Smart. All of the 6 services on this UPS are set to be checked every 2 minutes and recheck after 1 minute.
But when I look into the "Service Status Details for UPS" in the nagios's web interface, I see, that the "last check" field shows, that the service last check was not before 2 minutes, but before 30 minutes or even longer.

I tried to read FAQs, documentation on nagios.org/docs, tried to set up the

freshness_check_interval=15 
service_interleave_factor=1

but nothing changed...

Does anyone has any explanation for this nagios's behaviour? 
Any help appreciated!
