Frankly, you are complete right, except that it is all about nagios
1.
I will summurize:
The point is we need a system:
system=(monitoring+tickets+(asset-management+softwaredelivery/patching))
2.
we want nagios monitoring
we found RT as sufficient
we need (asset-management+softwaredelivery/patching)
3.
thats my question: what do you use, comform & easy to integrate with
nagios & RT, not needed to be OpenSource (but no so costly as a CA),
just good enough to be able to link it with the nagios objects and vs
4. case A:
we dont have all the tools and visual repretesentation that our manager
request:
we are forced to use CA, and spent money and effort on the wrong place
4. case B:
we have all the tools for the system:
we engage a X company, that works in cooperation with nagios developers,
we pay for nagios support, we contribute ideas, patches & experience to
the nagios community

sincerely yours,
qstreb

p.s. right now 3 of us are researching the missing part -
(asset-management+softwaredelivery/patching)
Windows2003, Solaris10-sparc/x86, linux - redhat/SuSE/Debian, *BSD
