Use Nmap to scan your network... then figure out how to parse the Nmap xml output into host/service definitions for Nagios

Read the archives of this list. The subject was handled just recently.
(Read: last days of 2005)  But it is considered a BAD idea because you
should allready know which services are critical to you or your
organisation.

There is very little point in monitoring the coffeepot webcam if you did
not know it was there before. If the coffeepot webcam is a critical asset
you should have known about it allready and just have waited for Nagios to
install to start monitoring it.

FAQ entry has been placed in queue for the administrator.
