nsca checks

Hi all,

I cannot seem to find any simple NSCA docs.

I have lots of hosts behind firewalls that I do not have direct access
to that need monitoring.

Do most people run checks/plugins via cron piping into send_nsca?

Or is there a better way of doing it?

I do not want to run a full/distributed nagios server on these servers.

Greg
