It's checking freshness as you've told it to do which includes running
the check_command for the service when it's stale. Disable freshness
checking for the service (check_freshness 0) _or_ make the check_command
for the service on your central server do something more interesting in
your situation when it's called (change the status of the service, send
an e-mail, shutdown a random computer on the network, etc).
