host layout on statusmap

I am wondering if there is a way to change the auto layout of the
statusmap without having to resort to using the manual coordinates?
Really all I want to change is the amount of space between hosts. I have
almost 100 hosts, with the bulk of them off of one device, it is getting
hard to see the hosts.
