Include all servers under one service, but only alert on several?

Afternoon,
 Been poking through the documentation and I don't really see an easy
solution to this. I have several services that I monitor on all servers.
I'd like to be able to only alert on several of those servers, whilst
ignoring the rest. From all I've read, it doesn't seem like there's a
simple way to do this - I'll have to create the same service for each
group, then work on alerting based on that, correct?
