Meta Service Check

Hi all,

I was wondering, has anyone created a Nagios plugin that can read the
Nagios status log, check the status of one or more services, and return
a result based on the current status of those services?

I want to create a check that sends me an SMS if, for example, three
services are down on the same host, but not one or two. I guess you
could call this a "meta check", since it just checks the results of othr
service checks.

I don't think this can be done using service dependencies or
escalations. With dependencies I think I could achieve the opposite, to
suppress notifications if three services are down, but that's not what I
want.

If nobody has done this yet, then I'm happy to do it myself, but if it
already exists then I'd rather reuse the work of others than reinvent
the wheel.

Cheers, Chris.
