Nagios check_snmp issues for Solaris

Hi,

The mibs supported by Solaris 10 are in the /etc/sma/snmp/mibs directory
(are you on version 10 ?)

It seems that solaris can support MIB-II, Host Ressource MIB and some sun
Mibs.
(Have a look at :
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/816-5175/6mbba7f2c?a=view)

First, check the snmp can answer (snmpwalk on "1.3.6.1")

Try an snmpwalk on "1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2" : it's the hr-ressourceMIB CPU
usage.

If this doesn't work , try snmpwalk on "1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13" (sun process
mib).

Hi Patrick,
  I would like to thank you again for your help. Is there any website I can
get the list of MIBs for solaris .

Also I get the following result when I try the following command
============================================================================
=========
bash-2.03$ ps -eaf|grep snmp
    root   383     1  0   Oct 18 ?        0:00 /usr/lib/dmi/snmpXdmid -s
cisidr0
2
    root   376     1  0   Oct 18 ?        0:01 /usr/lib/snmp/snmpdx -y -c
/etc/s
nmp/conf
    root 23451     1  0   Oct 29 ?        0:18 ./snmpmagt
/export/home/patrol/So
laris27-sun4/lib/snmpmagt.cfg NOV
============================================================================
=========

Thanks,
Amitabh

Hi,

The 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021 branch is only valid with Net-SNMP daemon.

Which snmp server are you using on Solaris ?
Did you try the MIB-II OID for CPU instead (1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2.X) ?

Hi,
  We are having Nagios running on RedHat Linux. We are able to monitor the
CPU, DISK and Memory statistics of Linux servers using the check_snmp
plug-in. We are planning to use the same procedure for Solaris. Do we have
to use different executables/OID for Solaris. Please let me know.

We are getting the following error for solaris

./check_snmp -H <host_name> -C <Community> -o
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.9.0,.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.10.0,.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.11.0
SNMP problem - No data received from host
CMD: /usr/bin/snmpget -t 1 -r 9 -m ALL -v 1 -c <community> <host_name>:161
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.9.0 .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.10.0 .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.11.0

Thanks,
