nagios plug-ins error messages

> check_icmp deals with raw sockets and must be setuid root.
> chown root:root check_icmp
> chmod 4755 check_icmp

This seems to come up an awful lot, and it will only increase as
check_icmp gains popularity.

Andreas, would it be possible to add a bit of code that would
check for the UID, and if it's not being run with root perms,
say something like "Needs root privs" or something that gives
a little more insight?  It might head off some of these repetitive
questions...

Just a thought.  :)
