sendmail logs

Hi all,

I have the following question: I have used the option "Disable
notifications for all services on this host" and the host itself for all
services/hosts monitored by Nagios. Now if I look at sendmail's logs
there are entries like "did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during
connection to MTA" every 2-3 mins. I know that is nagios because if I
stop it I don't get those entries in the maillog anymore.

Does anyone know why Nagios is "checking" if sendmail is alive and how
to prevent Nagios from doing that?

Thanks in advance,

Maurizio
