nagios interals

Hi,

Anyone know where I can get some information about nagios internals such as finidng the sheduling queue, more error logging than standard and just something that lets me know the process that requests and checks go through after I click on the "okay" button?  We often have intermittent problems with our installation, and knowing a bit more about it (mostly from verbose log files if possible) would help a lot in the debug process.  Thanks.
