cfg_dir directory recursion

Does anyone have the cfg_dir directory recursion working?  I found a reference to this on the
list:

claiming it does not work... but I have'nt seen anymore about it and I can't get it to work
either!

I'm running:

nagios-2.0b2
solaris 9, sparc64
