Nagios Monitor MAX Tnt?

I have a Lucent/Ascent Max TNT that I want to monitor alarms on. I'm 
curious if anyone is already doing this? I was planning on writing a 
perl script to telnet in and check alarms, but I thought before I 
went to all that trouble I'd see if someone was already doing what I 
need to.
