nagios monitoring process may not be running

Hi,

I run FreeBSD 5.3 latest revision with Nagios 1.2.

When i had setup nagios i got external commands
for authorized users and i was able to enable
and disable checks and such.

However, due to some unknown change, the monitoring
proces just says : "Warning: Monitoring process
may not be running".

So i added the check_nagios feature manually and i
run that now for the nagios host. It is green all the
time giving the correct output [1] while the
application keeps telling that it might not be running.

Someone has any ideas on where i can look to get this
back up again?

./check_nagios -F /var/spool/nagios/status.log -e 5 -C \
  /usr/local/bin/nagios

Nagios ok: located 1 process, status log updated 6 seconds ago
