slow services updates

Hello,
I'm using nagios to monitor host services in my network. I get the
information I need using SNMP queries. Every machine has net-snmp
package installed, so I wrote a bash script and put it in crontab.
That script gets the information using "snmpget" directive and then
executes nagios "submit_check_result" to inform nagios.
The problem is that nagios gets the information but it lasts almost 3
minutes refreshing that value in the cgi. I know that cgi updates
automatically every 90 seconds, but I'm not counting that time. If I
look to /var/log/nagios/nagios.log, I can see how there's an EXTERNAL
COMMAND and a SERVICE ALERT containing the information I want nagios
to show, but It takes too much time doing that.
I hope you could undertand my english. Thank you !
