check_cpu plugin problems

I am having problems with check_cpu

1. running it stand along produces
OK: CPU os 0% idle
hmm that does not make sense

when i call it with arguements i get
check_cup -c 10 -w 20

i get
CPU CRITICAL: CPU is only 0% idle
if  is set critical high than warning i get an error telling me warning 
must be higher
than critical

last when i run it as a nagios plug in I get no values returned



has anyone played around with this plugin

i am running this on red hat fedora
