About how nagios notification works

You are probably using sendmail if you did not install anything special for it. make sure ther MX record information is correct for you companies mail server if this is not the primary mail server. look in the /etc/sendmail.cf file for this information.

I am using nagios 1.2 as the network monitoring system in our company. And I am having trouble sending email to the contacts by notification; I believe there is nothing wrong with the nagios configuration of the notification part includes the nagios.cfg file and the hosts.cfg file. Instead, I think there is something wrong with the linux utility which nagios use to send the email and I wonder what utility is and how to set it up to make it work for nagios.

Any help will be highly appreciated
