Actually, to follow up my last post. The nagios-db project only supports
host and service status information, not hostextinfo as far as I can
tell. Additionally, to access the information stored in the DB requires
you to use the cgi's supplied with nagios-db unless you have your own
tools for that. Nagios itself and its own cgi's will only use flat files
starting with 2.0.

I really need to set this up to play with it ;)

Ben can provide more information I'm sure, especially as it relates to
extending the current functionality. He's indicated in the past he's
open to adding other developers to the project.
