XML interface to Nagios 2.0?

Hi,

Is there a way of getting, say, XML-format status information out of
Nagios 2.0?  I found NXE but I don't think that works with version 2.
At the moment I've written some hacky lex and yacc to parse status.dat,
but if there's a better way then I'd like to use it!
