I haven't tried it personally but the documentation at
http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/1_0/int-snmptrap.html looks pretty
thorough and straightforward. In concept it's not significantly
different than distributed monitoring or submitting external commands
which I've done a lot of and know to be easy to accomplish.
