check_by_ssh

If you "su - nagios" and try to ssh to the target system, does it prompt for
a password?

Make sure .ssh is owned by nagios or whatever the target ID is and it's
permissions are set 0700. Ssh will silently fail if .ssh is not 0700.

Subject: [Nagios-users] check_by_ssh

Hi all,

I've got a problem trying to run checks by ssh.
Nagios is running on a debian and checking disks size on a redhat host
with no problem.
When i try the same thing on other machines i always try to connect to
the remote host and ssh keep asking me for a password.
I've made on nagios server ssh-keygen -t rsa with empty passphrase. I
copied the id_rsa (renamed authorized_keys) on the remote host in the
directory /home/nagios/.ssh and i've copied check_disk on the remote
host in /usr/libexec.
I keep asking what i've done wrong...

Thanks for your help.
