NAGIOS CRITICAL - could not find status log: /var/log/nagios/status.log

What is your LANG environment variable set to?  

 

Try setting "export LANG=en_US" and try running Nagios again.

 

Default LANG for the system is set in /etc/sysconfig/i18n and is typically
"en_US", unless you are running non-english.

I have Nagios running successfully on one box and I cloned it on another.
The second box has problems. When Nagios starts up, I see the log like below
and the CGIs do not show the status info. The status.log file is not being
created.  I checked permissions, nagios.cfg etc.  and everything seems OK.
Can someone give me a handle?  I checked the config with the -v and it
reported only warnings, none of which is related to this. Thanks for the
help.
