problem with 1.2

Hello list.

I'm running nagios on debian box. I'm using the nagios from
distribution and there was an update of nagios, from 1.1 to 1.2. After
this upgrade, state retention is not working anymore (it worked fine
before upgrade). Is this known issue with 1.2, debian package, or am I
the only one, having such troubles? 
Google gave nothing when searching for solution, so did list archives.
