[SPAM] - Re: nagios not sending all emails - Email found in subject

I found out my problem. Sendmail uses a load average calculation
against the server and if it reaches over 12 (default) all emails get
queued and not sent. I edited the sendmail.cf file and made the
threshold to 60 for load average. And now all alerts are being sent
with no delay whatsoever.

Yes I know nagios doesn't queue alerts. I believe its got to be
sendmail at this point but I'm not really sure where to look. I did see
a few emails queued which I flushed and then I started to receive the
alerts that were never sent. But this is happening all to often and not
sure where exactly to look in sendmail for this.
I'm have nagios monitoring a test host with just ping. And what I do is
disable the nic and reenable it.

Nagios doesn't queue alerts. What do your sendmail logs show? Does
sendmail get the message from /bin/mail in a timely manner? Does it send
it to you in a timely manner? What do your notification commands look
like? How are you bringing your test host up and down?
