trend reporting display

I have a nagios system successfully monitoring 214 services in a server
farm of 87 hosts for a government agency in Louisiana. This is a great
tool - Thank You to everybody who's contributed.

Is there somewhere that explains what exactly the reporting-> trends
link in nagios displays? Sometime I run a report and it shows accurate
availability graph. For other services, it claims that the service is
100% indeterminate. I can affect the display by manipulatingg the
pull-down menus on the upper right, but I can't find where to set the
defaults for these tabs.

Can somebody advise me on where to find out more about these trends and
reporting? I'd like to set the defaults of the availability report to
the following parameters...

Assume initial states: yes
First assumed service state: Service OK
Assume State Retention: yes
Backtraced Archives: ???

I have screenshots displaying my problem at

Please advise,
erich
