Simon,

Make sure that Nagios (or whatever you used as the user for nagios) is
the owner of the Nagios.cfg file, as well as owner all the configuration
files.

Subject: [Nagios-users] Strange Error w/ cgi.cfg

Hi,

I'm setting up Nagios 1.2 for the first time and am having a strange
error.

I originally installed Nagios+NAGAT and created my configuration files
(nagios.cfg and cgi.cfg). All files are installed to the default
location (/usr/local/nagios/etc)

After generating the files, I ran nagios -v and it said there was an
error in my cgi.cfg (specifically Error: Unexpected token or statement
in file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/cgi.cfg' on line 8.)

Thinking perhaps Nagat was creating the file out of order, I tried
re-creating the file by hand following the guidelines. Same error.

As a last resort, I tried doing make install-config and modifying
cgi.cfg-sample (not changing line 15 at all, the default was correct.) I
now get:

Error: Unexpected token or statement in file
'/usr/local/nagios/etc/cgi.cfg' on line 15.

Searching the archives, it appears someone else having this issue
modified the sample config to get around it. Not working for me.

Anyone have any other ideas?
