Yeah, seems to be broken.

Snip from apache error log;
[Thu Mar 18 12:22:21 2004] [error] [client 62.148.48.54] Premature end of script headers: /opt/nagios/sbin/trends.cgi

Workaround; use the plain 1.2 trend.cgi and avail.cgi,  all other pathed cgi' seems to work fine.
