Nagios/Apache

I used nagios when it was netsaint.. I would like to use it again but I 
couldn't find anywhere if I could run nagios out of one server. My web server 
would be on a difference server. Would I still be able to see it from the 
web?

A link of info would be great. googling didn't find anything.
