This is a really good request. I second it.

Subject: [Nagios-users] icons per group

I'm putting image statements in

hostextinfo.cfg

This works and the icons used to change - however I'm wondering if you
can do this on a group basis?

I've put the name of the template in for the host_name in
hostextinfo.cfg but that doesn't change the icon of any group member.

define hostextinfo{
        host_name core <- name of template in hosts.cfg
        icon_image      cisco7206.jpg
        icon_image_alt  Core Router
        vrml_image      cisco7206.jpg
        statusmap_image cisco7206.jpg
        2d_coords       100,250
        3d_coords       100.0,50.0,75.0
        }
