New mysql install

 I just compiled nagios with mysql.  It is logging into the database,
 nagios is indeed running, I am getting email notifications.  
 
 This is the error message
 Error: Could not read host and service status information!
 
 Can anyone help?
 
 
Check the permissions of the cgi.cfg and resource.cfg files
