Accurate check time

We have a similiar configuration (400/2000).

We're getting a Dell 1750 (Dual P4 w/HT, 2GB Ram) to perform all the checks
for us.

The way we've managed to get nagios running as fast as possible is to change
the service check interleave to s[mart] and crank up the max checks to 300.

It seems to do well on a Dell 350 (P4 2.4G, 512MB Ram) but the box is ALWAYS
taxed.
