Possible to monitor Spanning Tree and individual units in a stack?

Hi all,

I have a couple little question here.  Is it possible to monitor the
bridge's of spanning tree with nagios or nsclient?  I want to be
notified if the link from a stack to the core goes down and the Rapid
Spanning Tree Protocol re-routes traffic through a different link.

One other question....
Is it possible to monitor individual units within the switch stack?  I
want to know if there is a communication problem with individual units
within a switch stack.
