Restart Check cycle

Hi,

  How can an C++ application inform the Nagios to restart the monitoring 
cycle ?  I want that the Nagios restart ( since  the first configured 
service ) the polling in the configured services. I want to meet the 
same behaviour as if I were restart the Nagios process.
   I think that it would be as a getCurrentAlarm()  function.
