check_ping problem for v6

Hi folks,
If I try to ping using check_ping in plugins.

check_ping -H fe80::2c0:67ff:fe10:4001 -w 20,40% -c 20,40% > out

In out file

PING CRITICAL - Host not found (fe80::260:67ff:fe77:4844)

Can anyone figure out what is the problem with IPv6 traffic.can the
check_ping generate ping for the v6 or not?
