Installing A New Version Of Nagios Using Existing Clients and Con figuration Files

Hi there --

I am in the process of replacing our existing Nagios server with a newer
machine. The existing Nrpe clients run version 1.8 of the program, along with
the NT clients running
version 1.0.7 of the NSClient program, while the Nagios server application will
be running version 1.2 of the main program, and version 1.3.1 of the plugins.

I have gone through the motions of installing the Apache 1.3.29 web server with
the mod_ssl add-on. Basically, whenever a person logs into the Nagios system,
he/she is
directed to the SSL port of the web page.

The Nagios application has been compiled and installed without difficulty, and
I've gone through the motions of installing the other prerequisite software in
order for the plug-ins
to work. The plug-ins appear to have been compiled and installed successfully.

I made a tar archive of the /etc hosts file as well as the nagios cfg files on
the original server and have copied the file to the new server. I then untarred
the file and copied the files
to their respective directories.

After that, I ran the sanity check program (nagios -v) with no errors or
warnings being reported. Before proceeding, I turned off Nagios on the original
server, and then activated it
on the new server to test it out.

The results were as follows: The NSClient hosts were able to report back to the
new server without difficulty. The Nrpe clients all reported Error 127: Out Of
Bound on the Service
Detail Screen, while also appearing to be down to the Nagios server.

What step(s) did I miss here? Thanks.
