check_by_ssh and banner

It turns out that the banner is on STDERR with the version of openssh
that I have. I have implemented a '-S' falg that takes a number of lines
to skip on STDERR, which handles this cares for me. It is committed to
the CVS HEAD, if you'd care to do some testing.
