Information request about Nagios performance

I expect to receive criticism about this from some people, but...

upon how many hosts and services you monitor.

How about, as part of your "research" you try installing it?  If I
install Nagios on an old 33MHz 386 box I would expect it to take a lot
longer than if I install it on a 2GHz 686 box.  As for the disk space
used, I would do a df before and afterwards if I really wanted to know. 

These are questions you could have answered for yourself by the simple
expedient of a trial installation.  These are questions which do not
have exact answers but depend upon what you are monitoring and what you
are monitoring with.  The only answers that will come close to the truth
is if you try it yourself.
