MySQL database support

Hi,
I have a problem in incorporating the MySQL support for Nagios.
I have completed all the settings and recompiled with --with-mysql-xdata.
And a plugin script called 'check_ping' is made to run.But there are no 
entries made in any of the tables in nagios database.Can avybody help me giving 
some detailed things.
